Module 4

How can technology be used most effectively to support and assess student learning?

Technology can be used effectively by creating opportunities for engaging the student with material through games and other interactive media. Technology can also be used to assess students by creating online quines which can be submitted to a teacher to see where a student is at with their content knowledge.

Module 3

This module has helped me think about the impact of the Internet on my students’ learning in the following ways…

The internet is often the first source of information on a subject for people, especially young people. The internet can be used as a tool for guiding students to learn even outside of the classroom by bringing their attention to fun but educational resources, such as our cool tools, for the classroom. Students are going to use the internet, so why not guide them towards educational opportunities, even though they might not realize it?

Module 2

This module has helped me think about using standards, CFQs, or formative assessment in the following ways…

Using standards is an essential part of the teaching process. They are the required knowledge areas for your state. CFQ's are ways for a teacher to use the information required by a standard in a manner that is beneficial to the students. The most important of these is the essential question which governs the way information is presented throughout a course. I think that by using an essential question for a classroom a teacher can help to connect the students to the material which will enhance the learning experience.
